The West Medford Community Center (WMCC) was re-built in 2007 as a forum to connect the diverse people of West Medford and the Mystic River Valley through social, educational, cultural, health and recreational activities.
WMCC is hosting a second exciting trip to Atlantic City departing from the Center and including 3 days/2nights at Bally's Atlantic City Resort and Casino. Motor Coach and Room Rate is $189.99 pp/dbl. occupancy and $254 pp/single occupancy. Tour operated by Yankee Line Tours. FMI contact WMCC Trip Coordinator Juanita Payne (781) 488-3570.
Presidents Message:
Greetings to all. Im Calvin Lindsay, Jr., President of the WMCC Board. I want
to welcome you to our website and engage your interest in what were doing.
We currently host a great program for our wonderful Senior citizens, a
program which includes weekly hot lunches, hobby clubs, exercise activities,
and wellness seminars. Were supported in these efforts by dedicated
volunteers, the City of Medford, and an enthusiastic group of older folk from
all around this wonderful neighborhood.
We also have some regular participation by organizations for kids and teens,
such as local Boy Scout Troop 421, and the Medford chapter of Teens Against
Drinking and Drugs TADD. We hope to do more in this area of service as
resources and interests develop.
Mainly, what I want you to know is that your community center is open for
business. We are currently here on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between
the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. So drop by and check us out. You will be
pleasantly surprised at who you see and whats going on!
The Community Center is also available for organizational and individual
rental opportunities; the Founder's Room on the first floor of our building
has become quite a popular venue for parties and family gatherings. We are
very pleased to announce that the Medford Branch of the NAACP has begun
holding their monthly meetings here. And, we've hosted a number of special
events, including our first Annual Black History Celebration, and a viewing
of the new video "Stories of Medford", compiled by the city's Office of
Human Diversity. Please refer to the
